Some images I have been working on. At this moment I am not sure whether I will keep these as a series of images or include them in a book - a story with no ending and no beginning.

A stressful start to the year, but I am looking forward to the next project where I'm going to experiment with colour a lot, also my dissertation would be over and handed in.

It's not a light subject to be touching, and probably not the best thing to be thinking about at night. Dead bodies, incriminating objects, and mugshots are not the only things I have been drawing recently. The girl in the red pastel actually quite scared me after I finished it!

This is my final piece for my last project about modern day slavery that was exhibited alongside my classmates work in the Follow Me Maidstone Exhibition. You can see images of the event here.

I have started work on a new project about the crime case of John List who murdered his family, on Nov 9th 1971.

A pretty morbid subject :| But its going well so far! I will update with my work in progress, and odd little bits I have learnt!

Brooches

Brooches i have made as part of my African Disapora/slavery project. I remembered that my friend made me a simple brooch like this a while ago, i was meaning to try it myself, and now have finally made some. Which is great for this project as they tie in ideas of recycling and renewing life into a piece of scrap material that would have been left over. All proceeds from these brooches will go towards Follow Me Maidstone fund raising, i am planning on making more if i have spare time, or even after the project has ended.

I couldn't sleep well last night, my mind was bogged down with stress so i was thinking about my work, whilst not actually noting it down, so when i woke up i had forgotten everything i had thought about : I do this quite alot, but never learn. Next time i will keep a scrap of paper and a pen underneath my pillow.

Today i am going to work on making some brooches to hopefully sell at our fundraising jumble sale on Thursday.

Some charcoal drawings i have been doing lately. I have really gotten into using the medium of charcoal lately. Last year i completely tried to avoid it, as i wasn't comfortable with it at all, so i didn't know how to use it. Its interesting to see how things have changed. My most hated medium has now become my most used medium!

I don't think i actually look like this, but i don't know why i drew myself this way : as i look like a child. I do like the biro drawings, i haven't drawn with such detail with that medium in a while, so it was good to pick up the ol' blue ink once again.

Handmade CD cases

Over the weekend, i have been making and working on a CD case for our demos, which i plan to sell at our upcoming gig. It took me a while to think it all out, but i made it! I like the idea of the image looking like a print, so i made a quick solution to that but using stencils i had made. The 'magpie' has always been the center image for In Fields, so i used that as a starting point, going to make atleast 4 everyday, may think into different designs.

I have a friend called Mike. He has a blog, and this blog is pure great-ness especially his most recent post, check it out: White Blank Page. He is quick to pick up on the latest happenings and recommends stuff you really should give a listen, try, wear, or look at. I don't believe him, until a couple weeks later i force myself to do said thing and so far his recommendations have led me to watching the most funniest film of the year, and watching one of the greatest tv program's to be shown recently. Well worth a look!

I like the silhouette created in this outfit. I like colours combination, if you consider the burst of colour on the wrists and shoes balancing with the beige and mustard safari look. The middle parting adds to this outfit reminding me of pocahontas. She is also very pretty. As soon as my fringe grows out i plan to do a middle parting like that.

This reminds me of the crazy ladies from Mark Michaelson's 'Least Wanted' Collection. Mark Michaelson has a large collection of random mugshots. They are interesting as you wonder what the person has done to have this kind of picture taken. Are they innocent or guilty? Its interesting.

A drawing i did on the back of a UCAS letter. When i feel inspired to draw, i draw on anything that is in arms reach, with any drawing materials that i can find within the same distance. Inspiration comes and goes, so i try and not waste that time walking up stairs.

I Spy a Bicycle

I spotted this bike over at words, a blog and it is the perfect bike. I've been wanting a bike for ages seeing as it will make life easily and i will save on bus/train fare, WHICH i could put towards buying that plate set!

I had a bike similar to this a year ago, but it had flat tires which i couldn't be bothered to change so it rusted outside in the garden for many years.

My sister told me to look out the window one day, and there it was in the back of a van being catered off to the junk yard, my mum had given it away without my word. I couldn't believe my eyes or ears. I now see that I appreciated the bike's presence rather than its uses, it was there if i needed it.

Lowdown on bus fares:

£1.70 - one way

£3.30 - day saver

BUT i have found out i can take the train for £1.15 return. But it also includes a 20 minute walk to the train station :|

This is how i usually have my hair out like, but i usually wear a beret with it.

I have been messing around with MS Paint since yesterday, i thought i'ld try something new and see what i can get from it. As of yet, i haven't made an mistakes or had trouble with it, i am pretty pleased with what i have produced. And obviously my header is an MS Paint experiment. I think i am playing it very safe at the moment. I want to experiment with more layers.
